Late Oct 2002, Derek and Dad ride down the Danube towards Carnuntum.  Last ride of the year, as it was getting quite cold.
28. Dec 2001  We went snowshowing on the Rax mountain to the Otto Haus (a mountain hut).  Could certainly have picked better weather, but the snow was very good :-) Derek & (new) Jasper in Schlosspark.

January 1999 : I went with my Dad to Stuttgart, Germany, to pick up our new Porsche Boxster at the Porsche factory.  We took the tour of the factory, and I really enjoyed seeing the robots and cars being built.  We drove back to Vienna in heavy snow, which bothered my Dad a lot, but we made it safely home.  We stopped and visited friends in Augsburg - here are some pictures of Michael and Tim Bormann.

January 1999 : The Pinewood Derby race is a cub scout project where all the scouts make a car out of a pre-determined kit of wood and wheels.  The actual design, carving, and painting is up to the boys.  As you can see, many kids had a lot of help from parents, but Derek did almost all the work himself.  He also WON his den race, and took fourth place in the entire pack at AIS. Derek's car won the "Star Car" award (can you pick it out?). 

January 1999 : I am a cub scout in Vienna, Austria at the American International School.

I went to Peru for vacation in February.  Here are some pictures of the trip!
