Easter 2002

Up

Sara and I went to Salzburg for a couple of days to attend the Easter Festival (Opera: Richard Wagners' Parsifal, and listen to the Berlin Philharmonic: Mendelsohn & Strauss).  The weather was stormy at first, but then settled into a light snow for two days, leaving us quite pleased.

Hohenzollern Fortress, view across the Salzach, and light snow on the river walk.
For Palm Sunday small or large bunches of cedar and willow branches are put on a stick - most are quite small and people carry them to church.  Palmenbuschen.

Easter egg shaped salami ...

Easter window at zum Schwarzen Kameel.

OK, here's the pun : Sud=south, Nord=north, West=west, and Ost=East.  OSTERN=Easter
